Three Priority Bills Await Governor’s Signature

September 15th, 2010: Three priority bills await Governor Schwarzenegger’s signature after passing through policy committees and floor votes in both the Assembly and the Senate.

AB 2435 (B Lowenthal) would expand the required coursework for social workers, counselors, and psychologists to include training on adult abuse assessment and reporting.

AB 2470 (De La Torre) would prevent health care providers from rescinding coverage of consumers who become ill.

SB 1329 (Leno) would require owners of residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs) to notify residents and their families if their facility is threatened by foreclosure or other financial circumstances that could jeopardize the residents’ continuing to live there.
