Governor and Legislative Leaders Reach Budget Deal

Late on Friday, October 1st, the ‘Big Five’, consisting of the Governor and the legislative leaders of both parties, reached a budget agreement to close California’s $19.1 billion deficit.  The budget agreement comes 93 days after the deadline to pass a budget.  Specific details on how the budget deficit will be closed have not yet been released, but a vote is expected sometime this week.
