On Thursday, January 27th, seven members of the Legislature, including Republicans and Democrats, announced their opposition to Governor Brown’s proposed $500 million reduction to In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) at a rally on the Capitol steps. The members included: Senator Juan Vargas (Democrat – San Diego), Assemblymember Paul Cook (Republican – Yucaipa), Assemblymember Marty Block (Democrat – San Diego), Assemblymember Brian Nestande (Republican – Palm Desert), Assemblymember Jim Silva (Republican – Huntington Beach) and Assemblymember Toni Atkins (Democrat – San Diego, 76th Assembly District).
