6/16/11 – BREAKING NEWS: Governor Brown vetoes budget bills

Less than 24-hours after the legislature passed budget bills AB 98 and SB 69, Governor Brown vetoed them, saying “unfortunately, the budget I received is not a balanced solution.”  The Governor, also citing budget gimmicks and one-time solutions, said he would continue to push for a balanced budget.  With just two weeks remaining in the fiscal year, today’s action places California’s budget back in a state of limbo.
