Settlement Reached to Preserve Adult Day Health Care

Today it was announced that the Adult Day Health Care program has been saved from elimination in December.  In a settlement between plaintiffs and the Department of Health Care Services, the Adult Day Health Care program will continue through February 29, 2012.

Recipients will have between now and February 29, 2012 to apply for a new program that offers similar services, the Community-Based Adult Services program.

This is an exciting turn of events for the 35,000 recipients of adult day health care in California, as well as their families that count on the program to help care for their loved ones.  Below are links to the press release by Disability Rights California and a story on The Sacramento Bee website.
