Last week, AB 394 (Yamada and Grove) – which will extend the voluntary tax check-off fund for Alzheimer’s research – passed the Assembly Floor with a unanimous 78 – 0 vote. To date, a bipartisan group of 21 members have signed on as coauthors.
Nearly 300 volunteers wrote emails to members of the Assembly Revenue & Taxation Committee to voice their support for this important bill, which provides critical research dollars in California. Thank you to those who were able to take this action!
The bill is now halfway through the legislative process, and will next move to the Senate. As it is scheduled in committees, we will once again draw upon the power of advocates to let members of the Legislature know that this simple tax check-off extension is important to California families living with Alzheimer’s disease.
